Modify The Title Bar Of Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player

ScreenShot027

It happens in many cases that when you get an assembled notebook or PC, the title bar of different softwares bundled in it have the name of the company or the system integrator.

That particular name or logo doesn't make us feel comfortable and personal with our computer and then a wish of removing it arises,

Today I will tell you how to modify the title bars of IE and WMP

Note: This is a registry trick, so backup your registry before taking any risks

Internet Explorer

  1. Launch the registry editor (type regedit in the run box and hit enter)
  2. Go to the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Microsoft\ Internet Explorer\ Main
  3. Modify or create the string Value called Window Title, and give it a value equal to what you want it to be-say your name or something like Powered by TechAlerts for example.
  4. If you just remove the string, it'll be back to default "Microsoft Internet Explorer", getting rid of the name of your system integrator.

Windows Media Player

  1. Launch the registry editor (type regedit in the run box and hit enter)
  2. Go to the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Policies\ Microsoft. Click on the key WindowsMediaPlayer.
  3. Modify the string value TitleBar (Or remove it to get the default settings)
